Project : 18 MW Solar PV Power Plant | Size : 100 Acres | Type : Green Energy | Status : Completed

The 15 MW (AC) – 18 MW (DC) solar PV plant is a ground-mounted solar power project located in Alair, Telangana. It has been developed for the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Co. Ltd. (TSSPDCL) and is spread across 100 acres of self-owned land. The plant uses single-axis hydraulic tracking systems that help maximize energy generation by following the sun’s movement throughout the day. The project became operational on November 11, 2017, under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with a fixed tariff of INR 5.7249 per unit. This agreement is transferable and guarantees stable revenue for the remaining 18 years of the contract.
The plant generates around 2.55 to 2.70 crore units of electricity annually. Daily energy generation ranges from 70,000 to 85,000 units, with higher outputs during the summer months. The project benefits from good solar exposure, with an average solar irradiance of 4.5 to 6.25 kWh per square meter per day, ensuring consistent power generation throughout the year.
The plant is equipped with quality components such as UpSolar polycrystalline modules, Ingeteam inverters from Spain, and a single-axis hydraulic tracking system from InSolare. It is secured with 10-foot high military-grade fencing, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and continuous security monitoring. The project has obtained all necessary government approvals and financial clearances. Located just 2.8 kilometers from the 132/33 kV substation, the site offers logistical advantages that support smooth operation. This project is a significant contributor to renewable energy, using advanced technology and high-efficiency equipment to provide a reliable source of clean power.
